AidWatch Canada contributes to the International Assistance Review
AidWatch Canada has made a submission to Global Affairs Canada International Assistance Review on Canadian aid and development effectiveness. Brian Tomlinson was invited to participate on a panel for this Review, held in early June in Halifax. Inter-Council Network publishes research on small and medium CSOs
The Inter-Council Network, which represents the provincial and territorial councils of Canadian International CSOs, published an analysis of the scope and effectiveness small and medium CSOs as development actors. Brian Tomlinson of AidWatch Canada researched and wrote this paper.
AidWatch Canada signs onto joint CSO statement on private sector instruments in ODA
The Development Assistance Committee of the OECD is undertaking a review of the scope and criteria for determining Official Development Assistance (ODA). Several donors involved in these discussions are pushing to extend the definition of ODA to include other development flows to developing countries. AidWatch Canada signed onto a CSO statement concerning the approach to including private sector resource flows as ODA, which can be found here.
